Work on Suriya’s Dhruva Natchathiram yet to start?

Ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon announced with full enthu the launch of his Suriya-starrer Dhruva Natchathiram in the first week of May. Repeating Suriya for the third time as hero in his film, he had also said he would once again be working with A.R. Rahman for this film. Menon’s Neethane En Ponvasantham, which released last year, had Maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s music.

The shoot of the film was to have commenced last Monday (17th June) but Suriya wasn’t ready as he was busy with the audio-launch of his upcoming film Singam-2. Usually, Suriya doesn’t take much time in getting off the blocks once he commits himself to starring in a film.

Menon is producing the film under his banner ‘Photon Kathaas’. Simran & Parthiepan are slated to play prominent roles in the film. While initially it was rumoured that Sameera Reddy might be starred opposite Suriya, it turns out that Menon suggested Trisha’s name to Suriya. However, Suriya reportedly told Menon not to sign up Trisha and look for a ‘fresh’ face.

It was then said Amala Paul has been signed up as the heroine. There is some degree of uncertainty about that as the Unit says that when the shoot commences finally, there is every chance of the heroine getting changed. Suriya is likely to start shooting for the film from the first week of July.
